Blaize, AI Startup

On Monday, AI computing firm Blaize announced a significant milestone, securing $106 million in funding. Notably, this investment round includes contributions from long-standing supporters like Mercedes-Benz and Temasek.

Additionally, familiar faces such as Bess Ventures, Franklin Templeton, and Denso continue to support the company. Newcomers Rizvi Traverse, Ava Investors, and BurTech LP join this roster of investors. While the company has not revealed specifics about its valuation, it highlighted the wide range of backers fueling its growth in a statement.

The fundraising mirrors the eagerness that projects the AI sector to seize a significant portion of venture capital funding amidst a mostly subdued atmosphere last year. OpenAI’s introduction of ChatGPT has sparked enthusiasm in AI, leading companies to invest millions to capitalize on the trend.

Furthermore, the El Dorado Hills, California-headquartered company, which specializes in computing solutions for the automotive, mobility, smart retail, security, industrial, and metro market sectors, disclosed previous fundraising efforts totaling $224 million.

Last December, Blaize announced its intention to go public through a SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company) arrangement with BurTech Acquisition.
